Malvar

Considered like the principal variety of the zone. It occupies approximately 20 % of the whole of the vineyard inscribed in the Regulatory Council. The Malvar is less productive than other white varieties (Airén), matures before and gives place to more aromatic fresh wines (with certain acidity typical of the variety) and with an slightly alcoholic top content. This variety is original of the South-east of Madrid. The Malvar is a variety of relatively low freightage with a leaf that accentuates clearly the lobes that shape it giving it a typical form. The pruning and ripeness is irregular and the average estimated production is of 4,3 Kg / vine-stock. It gives place to fresh, aromatic, clearly personal wines.
